The New “Return to Work” Image on a Budget

Challenge:

This client has spent the past year seeking employment and after a long search, was able to secure a new job. Yippee! But after being laid off for such a long time, she did not have any clothes for hew new position. Additionally, her new employment is a much more casual atmosphere than her last ‘suit’ wearing job.

Solution:

We found many separates that could be combined with various suit elements. Mixing and matching suit pieces provided a great assortment of new outfits. This allowed her a great deal of flexibility and kept her new wardrobe on a budget.

As you can see, she can be completely casual with simply a blouse and pants or if she wants to step it up a notch, she adds a jacket from one of her suits. She can switch shoes and wear the same blouse with the skirt which came with the suit another day.

Now she has a comprehensive wardrobe that was created on a shoestring budget and can add a suit or two to increase her wardrobe elements as she gets paid in her new position.

PS As an aside, take a look at how much better flair jeans are for her silhouette compared to her original straight leg jeans.

A New “Return to Work” Wardrobe and Image on a Budget

Situation:

This client has spent over a year seeking employment with no income. After such a long search, was able to secure a new job. Yippee! But after being laid off for such a long time, she did not have any clothes for hew new position. Additionally, her new employment is a much more casual atmosphere than her last ‘suit’ wearing job.

Dark jeans are the best secret weapon you can add to your wardrobe. They can be dressed up or down depending on whatever you pair them with. From work to play, they go the whole way much better than faded or washed jeans.

Here in Southern California, when paired with a nice suit coat, they are often seen as the new suit for men.

Now my client has a comprehensive wardrobe that was created on a shoestring budget. She will be able to add a new suit or two to increase her wardrobe elements as she gets paid in her new position. Congratulations!

Two Ways to Style a Suit

Situation:

An upper level manager who travels frequently and needs to look professional. She is required to dress up for formal meetings but at other times does not want to appear too formal or intimidating to her staff.

Challenge:

The biggest challenge for most women is finding suits that are not black! Most women beyond their 20’s, and unless they are true winter complexions, are best served to keep black away from their faces. Unfortunately, when it comes to suits, it is very difficult to find very many choices besides black.

Solution:

This client looked good in almost every color except black and especially great in lime green and navy. After much searching, I was able to find a navy suit and a lime/brown suit that we could dress up or down based on her schedule for the day. Two suits can turn into at least 6 outfits when paired perfectly together.

You can see that this suit looks just as nice during “Jeans Friday” when dressed down with jeans, as well as during formal client meetings.

Check out the incredibly fun and sexy shoes that she is wearing with her jeans outfit above!

The outfit below shows how to combine a suit coat with a jersey knit dress to create another style.
